| Name: | Mufasa |
|---|

Appearance: Unlike his smaller, lankier younger brother, Mufasa is a large, powerfully built lion with golden fur and a prominent, russet mane. He is broad-chested and wide-shouldered, with a strong jaw and determined countenance that give him a noble, stately appearance. While he is quite different from his son in build and size, it is clear in his brow and deep, maroon gaze that he is Simba’s father. As of right now, he is being brought back from the spirit world by the Great Kings of the Past, and appears almost translucent and ghost-like. He will become “whole” again as time passes. See his history.
A picture of his humanoid form is to come soon.
Personality: Brave, self-sacrificing, and righteous, Mufasa has a strong sense and keen understanding of the balance that holds all life together (it is because of this that he is particularly disturbed by the inhabitants of Paixao). He is wise and intelligent and was revered as a king for his fair and just leadership of the Pridelands.
Abilities/Weaponry: An excellent leader, determined, and difficult to phase. Physically, he’s got teeth and claws, and a good, powerful swipe. As time passes, he may prove to have certain mystical powers that develop for reasons revealed in his history.
Weaknesses: For now, it seems all Mufasa has working to his physical advantage is what any lion comes equipped with when they’re born into this world. Compared to some of the stronger residents of the KH games, that isn’t very much. As he is also currently in the process of being resurrected (see History), there are only certain things he can make physical contact with – at least for the moment.
History: For many years, Mufasa ruled as a kind and righteous king of the Pridelands with his mate, Sarabi. Soon after the birth of their son, Simba, Mufasa was betrayed by his younger brother, Scar, who wished to take over the throne in Simba’s place. Scar’s evil plot led to Mufasa’s murder, and instilled the belief in young Simba that it was his own fault his father had been killed. Simba ran away, leaving his uncle to assume control over his homeland – and although Scar was a clever lion, he proved an incapable ruler, turning the Pridelands into a decaying wasteland.
Simba grew up with two companions in the jungle far away, never coming to terms with his destiny as the rightful king of the Pridelands. He was plagued by terrible guilt, until one night, Mufasa appeared to him in the sky. His father lived on through him, and it was now Simba’s responsibility to return to the Pridelands and reclaim the throne. “Remember who you are,” Mufasa told him. “You are my son, and the one true king. Remember who you are.”
Simba did return, and with the help of his friends, overthrew Scar, who he learned was the true orchestrator of his father’s death. The Pridelands were returned to their original balance, and Simba went on in his father’s footsteps as a great king.
At least... for a while.
One day, the entirety of Simba’s world was enclosed by a great, black cloud. From this cloud came terrible creatures – the Heartless – led by none other than Scar’s ghost. Simba and his pride tried valiantly to fight them off, but it was only a matter of time before Scar once again took over. His lust for power had fueled the Heartless like straw to a fire.
Simba soon disappeared, as did the rest of his family and pride, as Mufasa watched from above in horror.
Now, though, Mufasa will find himself being resurrected by the Great Kings of the Past in a mysterious land known as Paixao. He does not know how he can help, or why, but he knows that the Great Kings would not have sent him back to the mortal world unless he were needed. When he awakens near the gates of Vanaheim, he is still half-ghost and not completely whole. This will rectify as time passes, and upon his return to the living world, he may discover that the Great Kings have also bestowed upon him new, magical powers.
Mufasa’s first priority upon arrival at Paixao is to find his son, and discover the mysteries of why he was brought to this new world, and how it may play a key role in the redemption of his own.
